If you do online banking you'll notice a little symbol of a lock usually in the lower right corner of your browser bar...this is ensuring you that the site is encrypted (all information that is received by the site from you will be jumbled and mixed with letter/symbol/number characters) so that you can send banking info such as account number, password, credit card info etc.

When a site in unencrypted it means that anyone can view your information to the site...so if you are signing up for an account on line for something, your name, address, phone number etc will be viewable by anyone if they know how to do it...so unencrypted sites should never take credit/debit card info. An encrypted site will always have the symbol of the key lock in the lower right corner of the browser...showing the site as secure.

Just means that other people can see what you are doing if they are looking. Most web pages are unencrypted but info you put in is nothing, unless you start putting personal info on unencrypted pages. Any personal info put in (passwords,Bank pins...etc) look for the lock in the corner of your browser and your on an encrypted page.

I need an interpreter for your typing. It means, if you send this information it is not encrypted and others can use "packet sniffers" and read your information. If you were sending credit card information, or any private information, then click NO or Cancel. Otherwise, click yes or continue.
