In addition, will the gameplay be the same? Will you be able to save it? Is there a specific order to these things? Do the final fantasy's play well, and if they do which are the best?

Yup. You'll need an original ps one memory card, but the PS2 is backwards compatible with all PSone games.
Additionally you can even use the original playstation controller with a PS2, no problem.
I personally like FF8 the best, but FF7 is pretty hyped due to its storyline. (Someone dies- but why didn't they just use a phoenix down? lol). If you're into RPG's you should try any of the Final Fantasy's.

Yes you can play Ps games on the PS2, you just have to make sure that you use a PS1 game card to save, it can not save on a PS2 memory card, All the final fantasy's play well, and its a matter of taste which you prefer.
I started FF by playing FFIX I found it rather easy to play, simplistic sometimes. All in all I think it was one of the easiest i played.
If you want something a little tougher and more adult orientated - not the big head children looking teenagers, FFVIII and FFVII were my favorites. All though if you are used to great top notch graphics it might be hard for you to play. They are after all older games. However, they have great stories.
FFX was visually beautiful and had a pretty good story although it was a lot shorter in my opinion then the other games. FFX2 - was pretty much the strangest final fantasy i ever played, im still not sure if that is a good thing or not - very Charlie's Angels. It is a direct sequel to FFX.
I really havent gotten into the newest FF for the PS2. Played a little but it hasnt really grabbed me.
Like i said its all about taste, if your after an awesome story - go with the classic FFVII - (there is also a movie sequel, a shooter game sequel, a snowboarding sequel (not released yet), PSP prequel (not released yet), a cell phone game prequel (released in Japan - not sure if it will make its way over here, and perhaps more to come.)

FF7 is for psand could be performed without the analog stick, the PS2 is rather backwards nicely matched with psand PS1 video games. some video games run completely no longer something incorrect in any respect, some run with minor issues including lagg on specific components or no audio in specific components, some run with considerable issues like lagg in the process the sport and shortage of shade or the sport constantly freezing, some can no longer even incorrect yet a the main suitable option hits sport including very final delusion 7 which became re released could desire to have not have been given any issues on the PS2

all games on the PS can be played on the PS2, you will be able to save it on a PS2 memory card or PS memory card which ever one you choose, the final fantasies play well, their is no change in gameplay you might realize a little bit that the graphics are different or maybe thats me either way you should have no problems playing PS games on the PS2

You can play Playstation Games on Playstation 2. Though this question seems a bit out dated seeing as there is now a Playstation 3 out.

Yes you can play FF games and other ps games. Unfortunately I cannot save my FF games so I have to play continuously, which for me is NOT a problem. lol.

Yes, you can! You may need a PS one memory card though. I have FF7 and tactics and they work beautifully on PS2.
