Well you really should go tanning once or twice, because the cream simply gives a tint to your skin.. it won't give you a base tan.. and if you just want to go without tanning.. wear SPF 4-15 in the morning and around 11:30 put something higher, like SPF 30-40.. for the first few days, then slowly begin to put tanning lotion in the morning.. but keep wearing sunscreen in the afternoon, until about 3 or 4.. then maybe put the lower SPF or if you have a base by then use the tanning lotion again! hope this helps a bit! HAVE FUN! :)

Stay away from the tanning beds! It's too late for you to try that route. Use the tanning lotions/sprays. Read the directions carefully & make sure you wash your hands after using. When you are planning on being out in the sun apply the strongest block you can find at least 30 minutes before going in the sun. Reapply during the day. Try to limit your activities during the day out in the sun during the hours of 10am - 2pm. Maybe just stay out for an hour in full sun during these times. I have very fair skin too. Even with the block (a 50) I got some color. I also was snorkelling a little too long & managed to burn the backs of my thighs a bit despite the 50 block! Just use your own common sense, drink lots of water & don't ever forget the sunblock. And oh yeah, have a great time! I wish I was escaping the cold too!

Spending only an hour in the sun in Florida will get you fried even in the winter months if you are pale or you are not use to the sun.
Wear a hat, use sunscreen, cover up as much as possible without looking goofy. And don't let the flying cockroaches get carry you off.
Tanning is highly overrated. When you are down in Florida just look at all the dried up wrinkly sun damaged idiots that never wear sunscreen and think their tan looks good. They just look like bags of dried up leather. Not attractive at all.

Yeah, do the sunscreen and lots of it. Sunburned tourists are a major population in emergency rooms here. People don't realize how strong the sun is even in winter months.

Wear a good sunscreen, and a hat. and we have the same ozone as anyone else, we are just closer to the equater/sun. You can also get a little headstart in a taning booth at home.

Just use sun lotion, but not sunblock, so you still get a slight tan. Or you have a fake tan before you go, but that not good, you know ;)

Go to a tanning salon..just to give your skin a little color. It will help to stop burning.

just don't stay out in it as long as you THINK you can... It creeps up on you. You don't even realize you've been burned until a couple hours after you go inside. If you THINK you can stay out in it for 2 hours, do it for 1 hour instead, as way of example...
