Can you join corrugated steel pipe with black iron pipe elbows and other connectors? Both of these pipes can safely transport natural gas. But my question is... will these two different metals corrode when in contact with each other?

Yes - I should have said "Galvanized Steel" instead of corrugated steel. Can I used black iron and galvanized steel fittings interchangably on a natural gas line? I am using Harvey's yellow pipe dope which indicates on the container that its good for NG.

I hope you mean galvanized steel pipe, not corrugated steel pipe. Black iron pipe is used for natural gas or propane. It is OK to use galvanized steel fittings for gas, but black iron fittings are preferred. For water, only use galvanized steel pipe and galvanized fittings because black iron fittings will soon rust. Galvanization slows down the rusting process, but eventually all steel pipe will rust. I would only use copper pipe for new water plumbing.

I think you mean galvanized pipe too black iron pipe. Connecting the two will be ok. If it is for natural gas, be sure to use the yellow Teflon tape to wrap the threads.

You can, but it is against building codes and if you sell the house it may have to be changed.
