i would say the Mirage, stayed there a couple of yeas ago. one of the nicer hotels in the mid range price bracket, but then saying that if your anything like we were u wont spend that much time in the hotels other than sleeping. Pool is fantastic as are the white tigers and dolphins out the back (do have to pay extra thou) If you were going to splash out i would definatley say the bellagio, beautiful hotel. You right in wanting to be on the strip coz otherwise you'd end up walking miles. Would definatley recommend the mirage just the right distance to walk to all the other big hotels. Definatley would advise to avoid circus circus (too old and chatty ive been told) and the stratosphere altough a lot cheaper along way up the strip. Hope you have fantastic time.

Go to this website:
www.tripres.com
They have good rates, you can reserve your room online, using a credit or debit card and get email confirmation.
I recommend calling them, using the phone number at the top.
There is a discount code at the top by the phone number as well. They will guarantee your reservation if you call, right on the spot. Reserving your room online could take a few days for a confirmation and you might not get the same rates or hotel.
So make sure to call them.
Also, if you call, you can verify if the hotels that show on the site are still available for the nights you want at the rates showing.
I use them all the time to go there. We go to Vegas 2-3 times a year and are moving there this summer.
I have found they are the best deals overall. And they can even get you show tickets.
Good luck!
I recommend pretty much anything that is on the strip right now.
It just depends how much you want to spend.
Check the rates and availability and then check out the hotels right there on the site for comparisons on dining, shows, ammenities, whatever matters to you. And then choose from there. Then call them.
Have fun. We are going down again in May. Gonna look for a house.

hi....looking over your answers. I wouldn't stay at the Sahara. It is too far north and too old.....If you want centrally located, avoid the Imperial and Flamingo if you don't want anything dated.....Most of the hotels in the Center strip are pricey and Easter isn't going to be cheap......for good rates, I would check www.travelworm.com or download Travelaxe for real time rates. www.travelaxe.com(I just love that site). I find better rates are offered at the hotel sites themselves rather than Orbitz and Travelocity. I stay at the Tropicana myself, but it is an older hotel also. It is clean and I get great rates with my players club card. I am going just after Easter and paying $45 a night for 3 nights and staying 2 nights for free and I am not a big gambler.
The Excalibur and Circus Circus are both going to have kids, kids, kids. And the Luxor and Mandalay are even further south than The Trop and Excalibur.

The Bellagio is regarded as the hotel with the highest ratings. The Wynn is newer, but to me feels like a copy of the Bellagio.

But AAA, Conde Nast, all rank Bellagio as one of the best hotels in the world. Try to stay in the Spa Tower (newer than the original tower) and get a lakeview room. (to watch the Fountains).

Depending on what kind of deal you can get, Bellagio can get pricey. The Mirage is almost as nice, with better room rates. You can walk right next door to shop at The Forum at Caesars.

Friends of mine stayed at the Wynn and said that the rooms were the nicest on the Strip.

You should stay at the Mirage. It's a great hotel. The casino is big but not too big that you can get lost in there. Also the Mirage is centrally located on the strip which makes it easier to see all the sites. Have fun out there and Good luck!

Then you don't want the best place to stay as not on the Strip. Circus Circus relatively cheap for Strip but no reason at all to have to stay on Strip & waste $$. The Wynn most certainly IS on the Strip despite earlier post. Circus not a prob nor is Sahara. Just people who love to waste money.

We just got back a day ago and stayed at the Monte Carlo. I was pleased with the room and price. It is really true that you are not in your room that much, so save your money for the fun stuff. Our hotel had everything you would need. The rooms are clean and classic with cherry furniture. We were satisfied. Plus we had all the ammenities and not as much strip traffic like New York and MGM.

It depends on how much you're willing to pay but if you want expensive and nice, you can check out the Bellagio or Wynn hotels. If you want affordable and not as glamorous but good, then try the Excalibur or Sahara hotels.

what are you planning to do while you are here?

if you are planning to do alot of walking/sight-seing... then i would suggest the flamingo.. you can usually get decent rates any time, and its right in the middle of everything.. and its attached to margaritaville... who doesn't love margaritaville?

If you're looking more for night-life then i would suggest the mirage or treasure island.. the clubs in that area are fun but not expensive, and everything is pretty easy to get to..

if youre bringing children, then i would suggest finding a hotel closer to disneyland. vegas really isn't a place to bring young kids.. it just wont be as fun for both kids or parents.
