A few years ago, i have been platina blonde for a while and lots of women and also some men were less friendly to me than when i had my natural haircolor, which is light brown.

Platinum blonde signifies trashy, playboy bunny-ish, ditzy, self-absorbed and a lot of other negative stereotypes. It's not right, but it's just the way of the world.

Darker hair symbolizes strength, maturity and dignity. Strange, but true.

Trust me, I know PLENTY dark haired people who don't fit that mold.

In the end, you can't worry about it. People are going to find something to not like about you. In fact, as we speak, people are not liking you for an entirely different reason. Who cares, right?

I have always dyed my hair various colours and have had platinum hair for some years.

My blonde hair can be useful as a 'bullshit and ignorance filter' ... if anyone is ignorant enough to insult or judge me purely on the basis of the colour of my hair, it tells me a lot about their character ... that they are most likely someone that i don't want to know!!

But you can't win really... when i had black hair people said it would look great blonde and when i changed, new friends said it would look great black!

I don't find that people are less friendly to me because of hair colour, i just think it creates more opportunities because it can make you more memorable in the eyes of others on first meeting.

I had the opposite experience, when I went blond I got a lot more positive attention then when I was mousy brown (my natural color). In fact, I am going for highlights soon and I am Black. Viva la differance.

I've found that most 'hostility' towards blondes is directed more toward the attitude of supposed superiority than it is to hair color. The same holds true for those who think they are beautiful.

People are so crazy! this hair color-ism (I know that's not a real word....but it should be obviously) crap really is true!! I'm not blonde and I'm not hostile towards people who are....

People actually judge others by their hair color?

What is this world coming to....
