scrub the bottom of the cage with disinfectant and hot water. Then line it with newspaper. Cover with sawdust then wood shavings. Add straw if you want. My bunny likes to sleep in the straw.
Dont line it with magazines as the colour from them could be toxic to the bunny.
I washed mine out every 3 days.

My rabbit lived in a cage in my kitchen and at least once a week I had to take out his bowls and toys then scoop up all the wood shavings and put them in a plastic bag I also had a litter tray that he used to pee in in there that I'd clean at same time so I'd get all the used litter into the bag too then wash it all with disinfectant fromm the pet shop, then I would dry it and put in clean wood shavings and hay.
You could, as has been said, line the bottom with newspaper but we tried this and it didn't work as he would dig it up and eat it lol.. so depends on what your rabbit is like

how do you think you clean out a rabbit cage?
you remove bunny kins and get him in a run, remove the sawdust, shavings or what ever you are using once removed you give it a wash out but dont use anything too strong as you could upset bunny kins. if you can leave it to dry naturally then do so, otherwise try get excess water out with a piece of disposable material, eg old towel. when dry put newspaper down and cover with freash shavings, sawdust or what you are using. job done.
