This site has a tute for laptop setup but there are other tutes as well, you should be able to find what you need here...http://www.wi-fiplanet.com/tutorials/article.php/2233511

Others are:

WPA Security: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/networking/expert/bowman_03july28.mspx

Also, try your WiFi card manufacturer site for tips and how-to's....ie Linksys, D-Link etc. WPA is more secure than WEP so if you have the WPA option...use that.

Good luck

I never use the wizards. But then I grew up doing things at a command prompt.

I'd access the router and go to it's security settings. Manually put in a WPA key. (WEP is essentially useless against a deliberate attack. The right guy with the right equipment will hack it in about 30 seconds). Then type the key into each wireless device.

The software that came with your WiFi device should provide you with the necessary means to enable the encryption.
There are several different types of encryption methods but WPA is preferred.
