My soon to be husband (May 19, 2007!) and I are planning on trying to conceive in May as well. I bought some pre-natal vitamins. I believe they are the One Source brand. I hope that was a good choice. Anyway, is there anything else I can do to prepare? Orange juice has been mentioned but I'm just not a fan of that stuff. Any other dietary changes I need to make? Thanks!

You should definitely begin taking Folic Acid supplements anywhere from 400mcg to 1mg is good. That can help to prevent certain neural tube birth defects. You may also just want to start about eating a healthy balanced diet and excersizing. If you're on the pill, patch, ring, or shot for birth control- stop taking it now and switch to a condom. Also, you may want to mention to your GYN that you are going to TTC in the near future. He or She may recommend you get routine blood tests to check your resistance to measles, mumps, and reubella. If you are not currently resistant to those diseases you will need to be treated for them before you TTC. Hope this helps!

Make sure you have all your immunizations, especially MMR. If not, you need to get those 3 months before getting pregnant.
Nothing special about the diet, just try to eat well and limit alcohol and caffiene.
Good luck
