I would like to create my own animation company and have a studio.
Where should I start?
How much do you believe it would cost?
I want to make cartoons or anything similar for the world to see, and distribute products and such.

I think that the best way to start is a deegre. Then, work for some animation company to obtain more experience. I know that they usually start working for big companies, and then they present proyects to new cartoons or else, like spongebob's creator, stephen hillenburg, he wrote spongebob squarepants and presented the show to nickelodeon; or, some spanish crew created pocoyo, a kids show,a nd now they're about to start their own studio.

also, can I work there when you launch your studio? I love to write, and I draw :)

I would love to do this too. I figured I would get my animation degree then start out small somewhere in Japan. After a few years I will continue my degree until I am a top animator in the company. Stay there for a few years raking in money. Then get a loan from a bank. Open up studio. Hope for Best.

OR

Draw every day until you are so good that you could start selling your animations online. Then companies will sponsor, buy stocks....then you build up the company. Either way it is pretty hard. If this is what you want to do then I hope you succeed.

But personally I would rather be a manga(japanese comic book) artist....Their chances of success are easier if they are good at drawing.

I imagine it would be extremly expensive. For a classical production (hand drawn photocopied onto cell) The paper alone costs about 33$/500 sheets (canadian dollars). so - 33$ per 41 seconds of film , per character.
this amounts to just under 2000$ for 2 characters for a 20 minuet film if the animators rough and clean 1 paper per pose.
You'll need animation desks, which homemade cost around 250$ each
You'll need the proper video equpipment I can't estimate that because I've never bought any,
needless to say it would be a huge and expencive venture. If your capible and you write, design, storyboard, layout, paint backgrounds, animate, inbetween, color, and composit it all yourself. It will only cost you the materials involved but you'll need some kind of money to live off of as well and you'll still need the proper video and compositing equipment.
The best place to start would be to learn as many aspects of the animation industry as you can, and start with a good script.
