I have two basic Dells, a 2400 and a 3000. I do a lot of work in Word and Excel, but don't noodle around with myspace, downloading music, movies, etc. If your intent is to do serious work, these two PCs are great and each cost me $299. I watch the ads every weekend and got a special for free shipping.

The XPS is Dells premium line. Check out the 410 if you must have a Dell. The 410 looks good for the price.
