Mountains in the summer. Beaches are too overcrowded and smell like fish all the time. In the mountains it is quiet. You can hear nature all around you. You can have a camp fire and cook out in the open. It is soooo peaceful.

Mountains. I do not like the boardwalks, the tourist industry, nor do I feel any sense of connection with the ocean unless it is winter and there's snow on the sand. One of the most beautiful things I've ever seen was the Jersey shore in February. That aside, I'd take any mountain range over the shorelines. The Sangre de Cristos in NM are unbelievable and desolate. Perfect.

Thats a hard one...I love the beach because of the sun, the sand , and ofcouse the waves....but the mountains just bring back that beautiful country home feeling.Can I have both?

Beach but my own private beach. Never the mountians I hate snakes and spiders.
