I'm not good at picking out clothes, or stuff like that, and she really loves jewelry.I guess I haven't really gotten her any in several years, I feel it is a bad investment. Besides, I'm not a wealthy guy. Dinner out is getting old, something memorable, since I didn't do anything for the 25th.

congratulations. and shame on you for being on the computer and not shopping for you wife. lol
if she likes jewelry get her some. it doesn't have to be diamonds and it doesn't have to be real expensive. look around. i'm sure you can find something pretty. just don't go to walmart.
how about dancing?even if it's in the living room to some soft jazz followed by an evening of passion? treat her like a princess for the day. order in from your favorite restaurant. instead of a huge bouget, how about one beautiful flower for her hair? you know her best. these are just the things i would go for. come on - use your imagination. what would she have liked when you first got together? retreave something from the past. that could very well make her day. best wishes.

ugh....nothing like procrastination....huh?

if you live in the same area you did 38 years ago.....go take a nice picture of the place you met, or the site of your first date.....or the place you got married (some such memorable spot from years ago).....have it developed and blown up to a nice size (this is something you can do yourself very inexpensively) and frame it.

Write your feelings/thoughts about the place nicely on the back side of the frame......

If you're not anywhere near these places......make a list of 38 things you love about your wife. Try to find small items to go with each thing, wrap it up and put that number on it.....(e.g. If item # one is that she's sweet, buy her favorite candy bar, wrap it up and put the # 1 on it.....).

Other ideas for that....
Beautiful (small hand mirror)
Funny (comic or joke book)
Good cook (spatula, toaster, or cookbook)

Just be YOU....obviously she loves you, or we wouldn't be talking about your 38th anniversary.

Being creative and thoughtful is more impressive (to me) than any amount of money you can spend.

First of all, Congratulations on 38 years! Maybe you could make her a nice dinner and rent a few sappy love movies to watch all night. The best gift for any woman is attention and a little surprise (at least for me it is). A small gift wouldn't hurt either. If she has her ears pierced, maybe a pair of earings. You don't need to spend a lot on them, just in your price range. If you know her birth stone, you could buy a pair with that stone (if she likes her birthstone that is, because I hate mine).

aww...good for you guys on your anniversary!! A suggestion might be, to buy a nice basket, and put items in it that mean something to the both of you. A bottle of champagne, glasses, some nice candles, a cd to dance to, bubble bath, body rub...it is endless of what you can put in the basket. Don't forget some jokey type things that will make you laugh!

Why don't you take her on a weekend get away. You can always get last min. vacation packages at a really great deal and it always beats dinner and flowers. And the memories will last a life time.

way to wait until the last minute...typical man.
if you've been married for 38 years, you should know exactly what she wants! take her on a long weekend trip, surprise her! write a fabulous card full of your feelings about how your love has grown over all these years....make it special.

Do a sexy strip tease and have fun/playful sex games. Mens health always have good tips. Or go buy comfy PJ's & panties, the cute cotton ones, but that are sexy at the same time.
