I don't know that they are particularly hot on his film but the issue of global warming is certainly a very relevant topic in the UK. You can't watch TV or read a paper without there being some article about recycling, shrinking polar ice caps or carbon footprints.
If he won an oscar, then good for him. I haven't seen the whole film but it is a worthy topic.
The oscars is shown live and there are numerous programmes about them - who wore what, who said what, which party did they attend afterwards. Personally, I didn't watch it. I would rather sit completely naked and alone in a field in December than sit through a bunch of self-congratulatory, overpaid, egotistical people receiving awards which they are just going to put in their downstairs toilet and goody bags which cost enough money they could wipe out all Thirld World debt and still have change just so that they can continue to earn millions when hard working doctors, teachers, nurses, police officers, firemen risk life and limb every day just to earn a crust and never receive any recognition at all.

I have to say I havent seen it. The problem with the Oscars is that it is all about American films that havent come out in the UK yet, so we dont really know what it is all about!
I would have to say though, that as much as I do care about global warming, I dont believe there is anything at all that we can do to stop the damage that has been done, what will happen will happen, I dont think the experts themselves can even predict exactly what will happen and when!

It's actually quite a big deal. More so that Helen Mirren and The Queen were nominated. BBC Breakfast were very hyper about the Oscars and of course the E - Entertainment channel were all over it. I noticed that they have had Live From The Red Carpet on for days.

I'm pretty sure British people only care about fish, chips, and tea.
I think this film should be shown in all schools across the world.
Why is Gore so crazy looking?
