BTW, for the record, I wasn't sitting in judgment. I can see merits either way. They say in the story that someone says "He is being set up to die by age 30." True enough. BUT... what is the lifelong impact on a kid who is removed from his parents' home and put in foster care? --That would have to be devastating. I am sure the kid, being only a child, wonders what it is he's done wrong. If he commits suicide before age 30, or becomes a criminal or sociopath, who will step up to take the blame then? Will it be the states fault for overzealous prosecution? His mom's for overfeeding him in the first place?

You know the system just pick any reason to take away a parents child...it's not like they will treat them better then their parents all they would do is put them in house to house not worrying about the child feelings, thats ridiculous

I don't find that striking but it's sad nevertheless. All social services are trying to make the world better by try to pretect the kids but in reality they are really harming the kids by taking them away from their parents. In some cases, such as issues with drug abuse or physical abuse , i feel they should step in but in cases like the one mentioned, they are hurt more than cure the problem. and yeah it happens in the United States.

She's putting her son at real risk of harm and death. I think the Department of Children's Services should definitely get involved.

I don't know if it will happen in the states... There is a foster care crisis over there as it is...

its about time

parents these days are not held accountable for their child's behavior or actions
if parents did their duties and parent alot of kids would not be fat/sitting for hrs at a time playing games/getting into trouble etc...

I think it's pretty horrible that someone so stupid is allowed to breed. I'm sure it could happen in the States as well as other countries.
