I would have picked Babel out of all the films that were up for the award but the Best Picture that I have seen in a long time is The Last King of Scotland so I was a little sad that was overlooked.

I haven't really paid attention to who won what on Oscar Night. To be honest I think that a majority of the films released from the past year have been crap with no substance.
The one film that I can vouch for is BLOOD DIAMOND with Leonardo Di Caprio and Jennifer Connelly. This film was a realistic portrayal of what's really happening out there and has opened my eyes as regards to conflict diamonds. It's a shame that there aren't more films like this to educate and open people's minds.

I haven't seen The Departed yet but out of the films I have seen Little Miss Sunshine would have got my vote, i loved it and Blood Diamond is also worth a mention!

Deep down I wanted Little Miss Sunshine to win. But I'm not disappointed with The Departed. I thought both were amazing.

I haven't seen the Departed yet, but a lot of people tell me that it is one of the best movies they have ever seen.
So, I'm going to rent it soon to see if I agree with the oscars or not.
But I would've picked Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest for best film. (I know it wasn't a nominee for best film, but I think it's worthy enough to have been)

I agree with the oscars, I really liked the departed. martin scorcese really did a great job and he deserves to finally win his oscar. the cast was amazing, the screenplay was awesome... its one of the best movies ive seen so far.

Easily The Departed. I have seen almost all of the other nominated movies. Babel was surprisingly terrible. Little Miss Sunshine, cute, but overratted. The Departed just has it all.
