People are fooled ONLY by themselves.
Everything is a very personal perception.

yes almost every one is fooling him/herself. the run after fame, money and all other things like this is what? we think that this is going to stay with us forever but is that so? aren't we fooling ourselves by living in a dreamland and while living in this dreamland we forget about how the time is running away..that how we came into this world and that we won't even recognize when is the time for us to go away from this world.

Yes....if a person wants something badly enough, they can talk themselves into it, against the actual knowledge of whether or not it is, in the end, harmful to them. Thats why we talk about making bad decisions....mistakes...because we let our wants override our needs. Its called, self delusion....and it covers ALL aspects of our lives...from religious belief to obtaining wealth.
Look at it this way...someone has only two dollars in theri pocket, and they go out to get a drink and a bag of chips for lunch. Its all they have, and payday is tomorrow. They go into a convenience store and see the lottery is up to 56 million. They buy a lottery ticket, because you can't win if you don't play. They are hungry, but figure they can wait until they get home and eat supper. They spend the rest of the day day-dreaming about what they'd do with the money if they won. Good decision? Who knows...but smart decision...no.

yes, self deception is very common. In fact, I am sure in some ways everybody fools themselves. Roughly half of Americans believe in Creationism, and roughly half of Americans believe in evolution. Either way you look at it, a large number of people are ignoring evidence, and continuing to fool themselves.

Relativly speaking for myself....YES!!!!
I fool myself all the time, by not knowing the true from the false:
Believing that this is my world and you are all part of it...If the world does not act the way I believe it should, I freak out....When people do not do or say what I want....It is called delusional, narcissistic thinking, and most people stay away from me!!!!!!

My father fools himself all the time.
...soft term memory loss and age-onset senility...
Of course I just tie myself up in language and opinions all the time, then can't work out what I was trying to say.
What was the question?

You could be fooled only by something that you do not know about until that moment. So fooling yourself is NOT really possible. You know what you do!

yes i think sometimes people fool themselves in to thinking they are someone they are not, this happens when they put on a facade for all the world and somehow they get lost and can't remember their real selves.
