Theory of relativity-
Albert Einstein is often quoted as saying that although sitting next to a pretty girl for an hour feels like a minute, placing one's hand on a hot stove for a minute feels like an hour. This is intended to introduce the listener to the concept of the interval between two events being perceived differently by different observers.

sitting next to a girl and getting your hand burned are both subjective experiences.

the ticking of the clock is always the same no matter what you're doing (or not doing). this is more objective than the first.

my answer is no. time is always the same regardless of anything else.

perception is just that.. what you yourself perceives around you. To say "man.. I got a whole 8hrs sleep, but it felt like 3!" Well.. you didn't perceive anything going on around you.. so YES it would seem shorter.. but a night worker working those same 8hrs... probably dragged on forever. Time and the perception of time changes WITH time as well... think back to when you were young... the years seemed to drag by... especially during school... now.. looking back. I wonder where last 12 years went!

I think that it is possible to change the speed of time only with our perception. I mean, there is a reason for the expression, "time flies when you are having fun"

However, it might just be that we are less aware of time passing while we are being entertained, whereas when we are bored, we are aware of every second ticking by on the clock.

We can slow down time from our own perception BASED on our own perception, but no we can't actually slow down time. Time is an independent variable that isn't actually controlled by anything because it is merely the progression of all things.

How many time is this question going to be asked? Time is merely a measuring tool. Can you change the length of a ruler by thinking its shorter or longer thsn it actually is?
