it was all sewage and stuff, and it was really gross. there's a drain in the floor of my laundry room, thats where the water came from. what could be happening?

It depends if you are in a city type sewer or a country setting. Sounds like the sewer pipe came apart, or is plugged. If you are in the city with a city sewer system, you had better call a plumber. If you are in the country you may be able to repair the pipe provided the septic tank or sewer line is not plugged too badly. I would check to see if the line is plugged. If it is not plugged, then repair the broken pipe.

Could be your drain pipe is clogged or the septic tank is full, check and clear.

Main drain is plugged or septic is full. If you don't have a septic call a plumber.
