I have an '03 LS and like it allot, great on gas and the factory sound system sounds very good. On a full tank I've made it past the 380 mile mark before a refill, the low light comes on and I'll drive another 25/30 before I stop to filler-up. It's a 2-dr. auto trans and was purchased new for less then 12 grand...loaded!

For the price, yes. I purchased a new 2005 (last year of the Cavalier) 2 door coupe for under $10,000. I have put 18K miles on it since, and have had no problems. The interior is extremely old-fashioned though. Fabric seats, manual windows, manual mirrors, etc.

It has better acceleration than Accord or Camry. Mine came with a 3 year, 36K mile warranty. Although I ahve not had any problems yet, I do not plan to own the car past the warranty period.

Yeah they are good cars.
Depends on what year your looking at.

take the VIN and got to your Chevy dealer in Service to check the history on what has been don to the car.

There is a way the Service Consaultant can do a national check where the car has been serviced at any chevy dealer.

Take the car for a test ride and try to get a good feel for the car and get the milage.

I have a 1997 Chevy Cavalier with 267,000 miles. The oil is changed every 3-4,000 miles. At the moment I have been using synthetic oil and the car has been burning about 2-3 quarts of oil between oil changes. But hey, it's got 267k miles on it. I get 27 mpg. I don't want a new car payment. I'm really trying to squeeze 300k miles out of it.

If you buy a used cavalier, get one with less than 100k miles and change the oil religously every 3,000 miles. You may get 150k-175k out of it. Very few have as many miles as mine has.

They are good cars for reliability and performance. no they are not the fastest cars but they look nice. The Chevrolet Cavalier Sports Package is the best looking out there with nice rims and nice body work. They get great gas mileage. The Cavalier and Cobalt are the same car, and the cobalts are good cars. They both get extremely good gad mileage.

This is my opinion, but I'll get blasted by the "American car" people, lol! Buy a used Toyota Corolla or Honda Civic... they have excellent repair and reliability records (check the Cavalier's record out at consumer reports.com), and they will get better milage. Also... you can count on getting at least 150K or more miles from those imports before major repairs are needed. They will be much cheaper to own over a long period of time. Go to different car review sites and do some reading... it will pay off later!

google cavalier and visit forums, you will see that they are not reliable cars. i have a co worker who has a 2001-for 2 years she was bringing her car to the dealership bec the ABS is malfunctioning,,now shes out of warranty and dealer wants her to pay.. they had been replacing the same part over and over again.

also our company used to have dmoestics cars for our sales people,, but since they always breakdown we shifted to toyota and honda..they are reliable snd resale value is excellent.
