snakes aren't the best at removing hair clogs neither are zip strips. I'd reccommend getting a professional strength drain cleaner that contains virgin or concentrated sulphuric acid. Lowe's carries a brand called "FlowEasy" about $8 a quart. Follow the directions exactly and you should have no problems. This is strong stuff. It will only explode back at you if you pour it in to fast. This stuff will dissolve anything organic including tampons.
If this doesn't clear your drain, you have a bigger problem than just a clog.

Probably just hair clogging it. Go to almost any store and buy a snake. The better ones are coiled usually inside of a plastic housing. Slowly insert it into the drain then turn it while pushing. Should not be more than a few inches and then pull it back out. You will have to turn it while pulling it out. remove the hair caught on it and try the drain. Since you don't say anything else is draining slowly that should fix the problem.

Get in the shower with a good standard rubber cup plunger ("plumber's helper"). Then, at the end of your shower when the water's backed up, simply plunge the heck out of the drain. If the shower has an overflow hole somewhere (like a tub would), you need to put a piece of duct tape over that hole before you start the process, because you want all the plunger suction to be directed to the trap under the drain.

Yea, you can go and rent or buy a snake to clean it out if you want to. I usually just get a coat hanger and straigten it out except for a small bend on the end. Stick it into the shower drain and turn it around a few times, then slowly pull out the big hair clog thats attached. Thats what a hairy woman will do for you.

use a plunger on it. They also have small drain snakes you can by to put down there and try to break up whatever is clogging it. I would not use Drano or anything like that there a wast of money and don't work. Most likely it just hair out something like that in the drain see if you can see anything with a flashlight looking down there.

Probably clogged with hair and other nasties. The best way is to go rent a snake just a hand one will usually do. It depends how far the clog is. The easier way is just liquid plumber or something like that but snaking it will get it cleaner. Good luck

A snake if you have one. Next choice: the Roto Rooter man.
I do not believe in using chemical drain cleaners.
Some have been known to boil up and hit people in the face.

first try a plunger, then draino is always a good follow up. First, of course remove the filter from the drain.
