Bands often tour when they are promoting new material and you know the adage "Practice Makes Perfect" ?

The theory is threefold,
1. That the new material will be perfect by the time the tour reaches home turf
2. The band will be warmed up
3. The tour and marketing will have gone into overdrive by the time the band get home, hopefully stirring up the hype

UK bands do the same, starting in Europe then heading home.
