I don't have a Honda, but most vehicles have two bearings (inner and outer), and the grease seal. Total cost for those parts might be $30 tops.
If Honda used a "modular" assembly (sealed bearing), that installs as a complete new hub assembly, that can be $100 or more, just for the part.
Go to a parts store, or find a manual for your car, read it, and then you can "see" what it takes. $20
Don't wait tho, if your car has a bad bearing, it doesn't get better, just heats up to the point that something falls off.

I'm no Honda expert. That said a rear wheel bearing on a front wheel drive car should be relatively easy and cheap. Do it yourself.

It was his way of telling you that it is a pain in the a$$ to do and time consuming when he could be changing spark plugs in a mower at the rate of pay he's getting. And yes, if you lose your wheel bearing, you could cause an accident and do more harm to the vehicle. If you know how to do it yourself then, by all means, it's the cheapest way and then you know that the job got done and done right and gain some knowledge on top of it.

If it's a genuine Honda bearing and service, that sounds about right. 120 bearing + 120 labor.
You could take it to an independant and get it done cheaper though.

I would say get it done now and no that's not to much. You would need to know what your doing to do this plus you would need a press to do it. really your doing the right thing. if you don't get it done now it could damage other parts and cost you more.
