An egg is in fact a unicellular embryo, which is experienced as an egg just because of the hard shell it is found in. The creatures like reptiles including snakes, crocodiles and turtles cannot carry a massive pouch of the embryo in their tummy due to their specific body shape, habitat and movement so they place them outside protected by a suitably hardened shells, making them officially recognised as eggs. Similarly, bird population have mega problem at hand if they have to fly with a belly full of embryos, so they lay embryos as eggs two and hatch them externally.
There can some anomalies however; for example, garter snakes in Japan hatch their eggs inside their body and instead of laying eggs they appear to give birth to their Youngs as mammals would, with placenta sticking to their babies.
The hard shell is round an embryo that accounts to an embryo being known, as an egg is not essential part of a chicken for example; it is necessitated by the lifestyle of bird folk. They do however say that a chicken is just cleaver means use by an egg to produce yet another egg somewhere else, but this is not altogether true. Chicken was first. Bcock!

what is your definition of 'firts?'
If it is a small yellow bird then = chicken,
If it is a hard oval object, then I would have to say = egg!
or
incidentally, if you meant 'Firts' then she was an egg, but is now a chicken!

Based on Darwins theory of evolution : The egg
The chicken must have been a mutated form of it's parents that actually adapted better to it's environment.

It is only on the breakfast table that the egg generally comes first. In the dictionary, it is chicken.... on the basis of evolution logic, it is chicken.... on the basis of Bible it is chicken.
I therefore say chicken... better to be on the majority side living in a democratic State.

DNA studies have provided an answer - which I can't remember :) - to that question. Analysis of the genes in chickens told the world which of the two came first; I remember reading it in the paper about 3 to 4 months back.

Evolution attitude takes the egg because the egg will "evolve" a.ok.a hatch right into a Chick which later grows right into a fowl introduction- fowl because God Created the fowl and then said be fruitful and multiply
