You'd probably have to call in the UN, and set up a Mental Peace Accord.

Achieving calm is not as easy as some will say, may be that; they have never experienced the rage in river. I have, and know it's hard. I also know that you can't drown in a puddle if you just stand up.

My take on reliving the strain is to not try. Better to improve your thoughts on the positive nature of life and spread that feeling. Remind yourself constantly to process thoughts that empower you. Train your mind to embrace the positive, while letting out the positive. When you give positive energy to someone it comes back bigger, the more you do it, the larger it gets.

Not knowing who you are restricts me from telling you what you need to hear but there are feel good things you can do to start the process. A hard but necessary step is to get a motivational book and start reading, it could be any published best seller. Force yourself to read! Not easy when you don't feel good but do it anyway. Memorize quotes that strike a nerve, write them down if you have to but memorize!
Start doing positive feel good stuff like; calling a friend or aquaintence that you like, and tell them you respect them and have always liked them and, you just wanted them to know that because people don't say it enough. I guarantee, you will hear the smile. Depending on your mood at the moment, it could make you cry or put a giant smile on your face. Either way it's a positive that you need to start putting in your life.

Push the positive thinking and you will affect the lives of those you love in a positive way while pushing that crap out of your brain.

Good luck!

Don't get married or have kids....that will REALLY jack your brain dude.

As far as "calming those turbulent waves of worry that break into your mind" dude....catch a righteous wave MAN, chill, smoke a blunt, pull the wings off a fly, check into the local County medical clinic for some free Doctor's advice, or just jack off more...

Discuss with a friend you trust.

Socialise to keep your mind away from worrying all the time. Go for a walk by the sea. Keep your mind occupied with your hobbies for a while. Take deep breaths. Meditate.

But most of all, share it with a trusted friend and together try to find easy solutions. When we are in such a turbulent situation, and we stand immobilized and frozen, it is very hard -if not impossible- to find solutions and way out.

It is very difficult to achieve mental peace, let alone calm and tranquility. One needs to understand how one's mind works with constant self-observation. Merely to achieve a peaceful mind is also a trick of the mind!

Live in the moment. Its hard but achievable by meditation.

Another thing your not your thoughts and you can decide what you think about. Everytime a worry comes into your head, replace it with a postive thought or mantra. x
