I always thought that the choice was made by the people who wanted to celebrate Black History. I don't think it was chosen for how long the month was.

I'm not sure why it's celebrated at all.
At 1/12 of the the calendar year, it's got more than its fair share.
The only things that BHM does are emphasize the differences between blacks and whites, reinforce segregationist attitudes among blacks, and further divide the people of this nation. In other words, Black History Month is keeping the black man down.

Least Blacks get a month... there aint no hispanic month or white month or asian month or mid-eastern month or russian, german, europian.... etc Be grateful for what you have.
