Does anyone know how to remedy this? We ran Norton (I know it sucks) and the virus program from our local isp, but they are not recognizing any problems. Is it spyware, adware or something else?? The pages he is redirected to are different with each search, not one specific page. Any inexpensive ideas are appreciated.
Thank you!!!

Trojan, or one of the other "114,000 Microsoft Virus Defintions".
1, AVG
2. SpybotS&D
3. Adaware
4. Crapcleaner
5. Shootthemessenger
6. Only run Firefox instead of IE
7. Only run Thunderbird instead of OE
8. Only use OpenOffice, never M$ Office

The IE, OE, and M$ Office all have direct control to system files, and thus, are vulnerable to any exploits or definitions.

More, if you like the above last three Open Source solutions, you should try the LiveCDrom, http://pclinuxos.com in your system.
Boots in CD, loads in RAM, runs Virtual. Immune.

See if the machine is running faster, and with you at the controls, instead of a Microsoft 'Partner'!

Read the Install Guide, (click that icon). You can run multiple-boot OSes.

Sounds to me such as you have been hijacked and you extremely need to flow into risk-free mode to run your secret agent ware utility, that way no longer something would be working interior the history which will give up your secret agent ware from removing the malware out of your laptop. sturdy luck.

Try this:
Click on Tools-Internet Options-Security Tab- click on custom level and check all those.. Then Tools-Internet Options- Advanced Tab- and Privacy Tab make sure all those are right.
On the Content Tab make sure those are unchecked.
You might check you Internet setting on your Norton.
