This is not a memorial per sa, but I lived in Memphis where MLK was shot. The hotel where he was assassinated (formerly known as the Lorraine Motel) has been remade into the National Civil Rights Museum. It's awesome. They actually have on display the room he stayed in and his balcony. Everything is untouched as to how he left it. And the room and balcony are in the same place, they just built the museum right around it. It's an awesome, awesome place. They also have the actual bus that Rosa Parks sat on too.

In time, there will be.
The Lincoln Memorial wasn't put in place until years and years after the man's death (about 50 yrs after he died, they started planning the memorial), but it's so old by now that people have forgotten that, and think it was erected shortly after his death.

there is one made by his widow. in Florida and probably many other southern states, every town has an MLK Blvd, even if it's just a small road.
