this may be a biased question since I went to public school. but some of my friends say that they knew people who had babies, did drugs, or never bothered to learn how to read dropped out. Why? didnt their parents say anything to stop them? how could they get away with it?

Bullying....is a biggie. I took my son out and put him in private 3 yrs ago. I think the public school system is letting our kids down.*

For some people, those things aren't important. I have known families who had their children (who received good grades) drop out of school to work because they needed the income and it is what the parents had done. For them, academic education is not important as earning money to help support the family.

Bullying....private schools seem to enforce behavior expectations and are less tolerant with misbehaving than public schools.

what i've seen is that the parents were not good role models. the child was in control. having said that, i have seen children that actually were not meant to sit in a classroom setting.

because its public that is why. you dont have to pay for anything so the parents probably tell their children to act a fool
