Hi, I'am German and so excuse my bad english.
If you mean with "us" the american people, so the answer is no. We don't hate you. Just your president - Mr. Bush. He is somekind of Hitler.
I think sometimes, that american people are stupid, just have a look on there own problems, did'nt even know where Germany, France oder Afghanistan are. This is what you (and I mean your contry - not every person in it) shows us at your television shows, your politic and so on. But I met american people on journeys and I was surprised. Some of you - the ones I met - aren't that way.

reality is - they do no longer. a minimum of no longer people who're extra effective knowledgeable or nicely traveled (that's various the German inhabitants at the instant). Germany is frequented by using American's so maximum Germans have some exposure to them. and various Germans usually take vacations contained in the U. S.. As a team, maximum of my German associates often like the people they have met. They see them merely like themselves with comparable hopes, objectives, aspirations. If there is yet another team contained in the international that's comparable to people, Germans could be distinctly close. do no longer forget that comments do variety, even political comments. There are Germans who're professional-American and a few want usa to be much less hand on contained in the international. That mentioned, their thought nonetheless assorted, do no longer often result their ideas of person American's they meet. all of us meet the two Germans and people who we actually like and could relate with, after which we additionally meet some we actually do no longer take care of. So except we are speaking a pair of minority, who's far less knowledgeable, down and out, and political severe (a minority contained in the U. S. and Germany), basic i could say people are incredibly nicely cherished in Germany.

No, most of us don't hate you. Some people are prejudiced (i.e. they think Americans were stupid and things like this), but most Germans don't have any negative sentiments towards Americans.
Oh, and most of us know that Bush is not "some kind of Hitler" as Babsi wrote above. Bush is very unpopular in Germany, but I think whoever has some knowledge and brain can see the difference between Bush and Hitler. I see on this board that many Americans make this comparison too, but it is just absurd.

99.9% of the Germans I've known personally seem to get along fine with Americans or with me at least. I met 1 individual who seemed to have some sort of "beef" but that was it.
Americans as a whole need to learn to be more courteous and respectful of other cultures' custpms when traveling abroud.

Why are you thinking Germans hate us? I am American and currently live in Germany and I haven't experienced any problems.
