romove the laptop's battery while am working on it??

i have a laptop and i need to remove the battery while the laptop is on and without switching off the laptop,.. can i just remove the battery or this may harm my laptop?!??

After you have plugged in your mains cord, you may remove your battery without need to switching it off.

Without batteries, laptop would work only when connected to mains.
