Hopefully you would take good care of the child by feeding them nutritious and healthy food so that they would not be obese in the first place. And then you would not have to consider sending them away. Presumably you mean sending them away to a rehab centre or somewhere where they can get professional help.

Well not to one of the children's home run by social services, to one of these children's fat camp centres for a month during school holidays then yes, the one at Leeds University called Carnegie is excellent and the kids who go there come out with more confidence and less weight on them, sending a child away to a social services home will only make them very depressed and want to comfort eat, a healthy place like the one at Leeds is much better for them.

My children are'nt obese, and if they were heading that way I'd do something about it, like stop all fatty foods/ chocolate/ biscuits/ cakes/ chips. The only thing I use a frying pan for is fried eggs and omelette with the exeption of pancakes, which we don't eat a lot. No reason to send them away is there.

NEVER ! Send the child where? to whom?
With everything we know about nutrition today, parents should not only be responsible for themselves but for their children as well. The childs eating habits come from the environment that he is in ! Also the child needs help, can you imagine his/her self-confidence ? Not only that but the health problems that the child will be prone to ? (High Blood Pressure, Diabetes, etc.,etc.)
When a child needs help you don't send them away !

I wouldn't allow a child of mine to get obese in the first place! This constitutes bad parenting skills, and the health peope should have given his mother and grandmother advise years ago. Now the poor wee chap is hooked on donuts etc. God help whoever has the job of weaning him off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

mmmmmmh it depends if the child is over 18 years I will sent him away where you ask Pluto(out of love ofcourse) with the struggles he might not need the to go on a diet program but if it is a small child out of love sake No, the kid is a reflection of yourself and if he/she is obese then you need to work on your own weight.

no I would wake up and smell the coffee!
After been totally disappointed with my self I would give my child what he/she needed I would do everything in my power to help my child back down to their normal weight.
It disgusts me how parents can let their children get so big, their basically letting them kill them selves right in front of them because they cant be bothered to cook them a decent healthy meal and talk to them about food etc
then they just send them away to someone who gives a dam because they cant be bothered to sort it out them selves.

Sorry for being so blunt but Parents should not let their children get so big in the first place.

No I wouldn't, but then I wouldn't let them get that way in the first place to be honest. A little bit of everything is fine, as long as they eat vegetables, meat, fish, potatoes etc. aswell. A balanced diet does not have to be a strict diet.

Well, it depends on HOW obese they are. If they are a little overweight, I can deal with that myself.
But if they are 20 to 50 kilos overweight, then yes.
