I would recommend that you use Java to make your online game lobby because it is a more secure than any other program and it is free to download online unlike other software applications such as Microsoft Visual Studio and Macromedia Flash Professional you have to buy first. Second, I would recommend that you understand and learn Java programming and I am not talking about Javascript or JSP. There are alot of tutorials online you could learn from and they would show you how to build an applet or a program. The Graphical User Interface (GUI) looks real nice. You would need Java Creator LE 3.5 and an current JDK kit to get started. I tried Java Creator LE 4.0 and it is a whole lot different from the 3.5. The JDK kit works with Java's virtual machine in order to run to compile the program to check for errors you would need it. Here are the the links to the following sites:

JCreator LE

*Note: File>Open and then type a "name for the program" with .java at the end of it.

JDK 6

If you want users to logon then I think you would need to use Microsoft SQL Server or Microsoft Access to keep up w/ users passwords and etc.

Here are some sites you can look at:

*Note: Don't worry about buying a driver Java Virtual Machine will provide you w/ all of that. If you do use MSSql then you would download it from their site.

First step would be to learn to program. This can take months, if not years, but until you have learnt to code there is little point in designing anything at all.

If writing software was that easy then everyone would be doing it. If everyone was doing it, who'd be so stupid as to actually _pay_ for software?!
