I come from a family that basically worked hard for everything they have. I live in a nice house with my father, mother, older sister and twin brother. I went to private school from nursery to high school and always hung around the same crowd. However, now that i am in college. I have new friends (just 2) and their lives are different from mine, their family doesn't have alot of money and they lived a modest life. The crowd that we hang around however, cant seem to see past the nice car I drive and the neighborhood that I live in. I mean its really hurting my feelings when people judge me just because of where I am from, is there a way to change all that?

Listen Beauty:
They will eventually accept you as they get to know the true friend and good person you are.
I had friends that were seriously rich in college and although the people who came from other situations seemed wierd about, they eventually came to realize that in college it doesnt really matter.
You seem very honest and sincere so don't let it bother you.
If they can't get over it, then find new friends.
But I'm sure they are just fixated with you right now.
Point out to them that its "not a big deal" and act normal and you'll be fine.
Also never take it for granted that you've been fortunate.
Also always be sincere and gracious so you don't give people ammunittion or a reason to call you a "rich snob."
Im sure you'll be fine!!

that is not your problem dear. That's theirs. However, you can do your best to act like one of them or be "down to earth".

It is normal for people to envy others especially about material things. Tell them that it is just material and no one could bring those money, nice cars and nice neighborhood you live in to your grave. ACT AS IT IS A VERY MINOR ISSUE.

Unfortunately the world is such and there is nothing you and I can do about it. If you're not comfortable with the crowd, move on to where you're comfortable. There are more to life than trying to please someone who doesn't see things eye-to-eye with you.

just ignore it; to shed it completely hang-out with a crowd having more than you, then you can feel bad
