I'm certainly not going to defend slavery, but in the grand scheme of things, the greatest thing that ever happened to today's African-Americans was the day their GGGG grandfathers were brought to this country.
If one were to line up all 300 million Americans in order of net worth, the person bringing up the rear of the line would be considered fabulously wealthy by African standards.

That same Chieften mentality that sold them into slavery is now starving the people. All Americans are lucky to be here.

The reason they are starving in Ethiopia is because of drought and a large population. People reguardless what color they are are also starving around the world too. So not everyone is as lucky to enjoy a meal everyday as we do.

I doubt any living blacks came to the US as slaves. Yes, they are lucky NOW, but most certainly not THEN.

ALL Americans are lucky. But also blind and self-absorbed.
There is horror and death all over the world, but it seems more important to spend time fighting about the personal lives of politicians. Hating eachother because they have different political beliefs. Accusing one another of horrible things...simply because they don't follow along with the political leanings of their neighbour. Priorities people...

Sad as it was for their ancestors, the present black population should be thankful that those slaves paid that price so that their descendants can live in the ultimate peace, comfort and luxury as compared to life in any part of Africa.

A few years ago, it was Friday the 13th, and a black cat ran across the alley by our house. It was ironic, but that just made it all the more fun. It was actually a super great day for me, so I'd have to go with lucky.

That's not the point. It should have been their choice and not forced out of their homeland to serve the needs of the white people. Seriously, they were treated like sh** by us. So, how much better did they really have it?

That really is a vile question, no matter how you try to rationalize it.
