There are no words yath and thath in Sanskrit.

Do you mean तथा and यथा? yathA and tathA?

Those mean in which way...in that same way. This is similar to jaise/aise in Hindi...:

jaise matr bacce ko prem karti hai, aise mai un ko prem karta hum.
Just as a mother loves a child, so I love him.

(Sorry, my Hindi is worse than my sanskrit).
