A one-month-old is very young to take on a trip, but we took our son on a car trip at about that age. If you are flying check with your doctor. There are a lot of germs out there that a baby can catch, especially on a plane where it's an enclosed space and the air and germs are constantly recycled. But on the other hand, a baby that young still has some immunity from you, so he might be OK.

Be aware that if you are flying, you will need to have him in a car seat on the plane and you will have to buy him a ticket so he has his own seat to put the car seat in. Also, during takeoff and landing, his ears will be uncomfortable from the pressure and a baby that young doesn't know how to "pop" his ears like we do, so you will have to nurse him or give him a bottle during those times.

The other thing is that you may not really feel like traveling only a month after giving birth, and your doctor may not think it's a good idea. So check with your OB and your pediatrician.

Best wishes to all of you and bon voyage!

I'm due August 24 and we plan to take a family vacation in late September. We're not booking the tickets just in case the baby's not totally healthy. We're flying to stay at a family cabin. It's not cold and flu season (I wouldn't consider it in winter). This will be my fourth child and I found after one month, we were ready to take small trips. This will be our first big one, but since we're all going and I will be with the baby the entire time, I'm comfortable with it. It's a chance for my husband's family to meet our newest member. best of luck!

No not at all. They need to be out and about. Sunlight is good for infants...especially if they happen to have Jaundice at birth. I have plans to travel with my son in May he will be about a month old himself. I am planning to have him on 4-12 and want to be able to put flowers on my mother's grave for Mother's day. So I think a month old is fine. Then I was out taking pictures with my 1st one after he was 4 days old and he is extremely healthy and happy. Good luck and congrats.

I would go! I have always brought my kids out and about from the time we got out of the hospital. With my 2nd son we were discharged from the hospital at 5 days old and we were only home about 4 hours when we went grocery shopping. Go, enjoy, have fun!!!

It depends on where you are going, make sure that you only use bottled water for feeds, and dont let the baby over heat

Ofcourse..The new born baby should need more care and affection..
It would be better if u could try to spend all ur time to look after ur baby bec this it the time the baby start to grow initially so that u can make ur baby as u wish physically as well mentally..

So my kind advice is to try to post pone the program.. U can go there a anytime but this time will never come back to look after ur baby.....

I didn't leave my house for the 1st month with my children. That meant no church, no shopping, nothing but doctor appt. Family came by, but we kept our kids protected.
I don't think it's wise, but you're supposed to be the parent, so it's your decision.
My kids are healthy and happy. They rarely get ill from anything.
Good luck =)

oh no take your baby anywhere. It might be a little harder with a 1mo. old but you can do it.
