I have a very nice job...this is by no means any self-obsessed remark, just a description of my "problem". I am here 9 months, everybody is happy with me and I am well settled. I like what I do....But I've received another job offer, more benefits, more future secure and also very interesting job...Shall I just give a notice? After 9 months just like that? If I stay, I might regret it in the future...I am very confused and above all...I don't know what to do...I am a loyal person but the other offer is tooooo tempting...I am scared to decide

First of all, don't worry so much. You are in a good position! I think the key here is to find out as much as possible about this new company. Will you have as good an experience professionally? Will they treat you as well? Will it involve more time away from your family and recreational activities? Look at it from every angle. If you feel that it will be SIGNIFICANTLY better, then go for it! If you have any hesitations about it, then listen to your inner voice and stay put. One more thing... you could also go to your current boss and tell him (or her) you've recieved a great offer from another company (honesty is good here!), and he/she might give you a raise to keep you! If they don't then go to the new company! Good luck!

If you feel that tha job offer is too good to give up then go for it. You need to think about what you want for the future where you want to be in 5 years time etc. I undersatnd you feel bad about the company you work for now, if you were to not stay but you have to do what is best for you. Do you wnat to go through life thinking you wish you had done it. I had a friend who really wanted a job and she got it and left her company but after a few months the money wasn't enough and she prefered her old job, so she contacted them and they were glad to have her back. So you could always try that if the new job didn't work.

Hi, I understand your dillemma. Here is what I think... Life is all about changing for the better. If the job being offered to you has a more promising future, take it. I think too many of us pass up good opporunities because of some false sense of loyalty. Its important for you to live your live for you. Definitely put in a two week notice and maybe if things don't work out at your new job, you can go back to your old job. I think you should atleast try...whats there to lose?

Everyone understands money. Just tell your boss that you have enjoyed your time and experience with your company but you've been offered more money. If you can give a month's notice, that would be ideal but if not, at least give 2 weeks. Who knows? Maybe your current company will counter offer. Good luck in your new job.

I don't think 9 months in a job is long enough for you to feel endebted to them, or overly loyal. When it comes to your career, you need to place your own needs first, generally. If you think your future would be more secure, then I would go for it if I were you.

My, the paralysis of analysis. You do need to weigh the genuine pros and cons of this one, but ultimately, this is a decision of the gut. Trust your instincts, make your move, don't look back.
