Scotland is one of four constituent countries belonging to the United Kingdom. The others are England, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
You are correct in saying that Scotland is part of the UK, but that doesn't mean it's not a country.

Scotland gained full independence from the United Kingdom in 2009. President Connery led the Nationalist Party for the following 8 years until Forest Whittaker led a military coup and placed himself on the long vacant throne as King.

Scotland is just as much a country as is Northern Ireland!
There is NO frontier between the two, you do not have to go through customs or immigration when you go to Scotland, like you do if you fly from London to Canada, Australia, or New Zealand.
Scotland is no more autonomous than the individual states of the United States of A.

It's a country, which is part of the UK.
By the way, the current monarch is NOT Queen Elizabeth II of Scotland. She's Elizabeth I.

Yes, the current monarch of Scotland is Elizabeth I, of England it's Elizabeth II.
Elizabeth I of England never ruled Scotland. He successor did, King James I of England, James VI of Scotland.
For this, I believe it is its own country, otherwise why would there be two different titles.

Even if the rest of the world or in particular the rest of Great Britain don't see it; Scotland is a country. It's the oldest of the countries in the United Kingdom.
It has it's own government, it's own education system (one of the oldest and best in the western world), it's own healthcare, it's own culture and heritage, it's own languages, it's own capital city, it's own foreign policies and alliances, it's own national identity and even it's own charities.
I would say that was enough to class it as a country in itself. Would'nt you...?
