yeah i think it's time to change doctors! Anyway, no doctor is supposed to give a vaccination to a sick person, if you're baby seems even a little sick their immune system could be compromised and a vaccine could cause serious illness. Doctors know this and it's not likely they would have given the vaccine at the appointment, but yeah if your doctor isn't going to take your concerns seriously then you really should switch. Supposedly some vaccines don't contain any live virus, and are supposed to be safe but still it's better to wait a little while until your sure their healthy.

I'm going thru the same thing. i have a 5 month old that has had a bad cough for a month. after the first 2 weeks it went away but then it came back, so the doc says its just he caught another cold. aparently newborns an infants can take a long time to get over a cough. he said there is nothing to worry about if the cough doesn't get worse and as long as the lungs are clear and no fever. and if there isnt' a fever then doctors will give shots. i would get the shots and just wait out the cough. good luck

Normally a baby is not given vaccinations when she's sick, they want to make sure she's well first so they can see if there's any real reaction from the shot, and they don't want to make her sicker. If you are not confident that your doctor knows what she's talking about, then get a second opinion. No, it doesn't hurt to be on the safe side, but you need to trust your doctor, and if you don't, then get another doctor. In the meantime, if you feel your daughter is too sick to get her shots, then postpone the appointment till she's better, although this may change her vaccination schedule.
Good luck to you and I hope your daughter is better soon.

usually if the child is running a fever then they dont give them shots because if they have a reaction to the vaccine and already running a fever they cant tell which one is causing the fever. yea you can get a different opinion, they probably just dont want to subject a baby that small to tests and stuff. ask the dr how long the cold should last, before you should be concerened. if it lasts longer than the reccomended time then i would probably demand them to do something. i brought my son in to the dr and he said my son who is 9 mo had a cold, well about a week later it wasnt getting better so i took him to see a diff dr and he had pnemounia.

They are not suppose to get their shots when they are sick. I would see about a 2nd opinion from another doctor. I hate when doctors can not find the time to do their jobs.. we pay them more than enough to think. Good luck and hope she is well quickly.
