i am not going to lie to you, but you will require more than one treatment. it feels like a rubber band snapping on your skin. i have had about 8 - 10 treatments on my face for the very same problem. I dont know about the type of laser it is, i just go to my dermatologist and they use the laser for hair removal. I believe the cost for me is 400 per treatment. It is very expensive. And so far it has been permanent and I have maybe one or two more treatments to go until I am satisfied with the results. I have very stubborn dark hair.

Be advised that the ideal candidates for laser hair removal have fairly light skin (preferably no tan) and very dark hair. it does not really work on peach fuzz, grey hair or light hair. The laser targets the pigment in the hair itself. it is absorbed by the hair and zaps the follicule. Your hair grows in 3 - 4 phases so it will suually require at least that many treatments.

I have had one bad experience, 9 years ago when it first started. I had a very inexperienced technician doing the laser treatment, not the doctor, on a laser that was only 1 - 2 years old, and my skin was very badly burned and I had an allergic reaction to a numbing cream I was told to use. I personally do not recommend this cream on anybody with sensitive skin. I have never had any problems with my new doctor. I get red for about half an hour and then back to normal.

In theory laser treatment is permanent. However, the technology is still new, maybe 10 - 15 years history, so it is not really known.

Good question. I want to know too.

I am a little doubtful on the laser treament whether it will lead to side effects. I was kind of worried that once the hair is permanently removed, our body cell that helps the hair growing will channel the resources to other body organs and developed tumours.

May be I am just too overly petrified.
