The US is the largest investment market in the world.

The global demand for investments in the US would vanish, so the US dollar would plummet. This would consequently destroy the export market in other nations so pretty much everyone would be screwed.

Minimal disruption. After 9/11 many financial institutions diversified their locations. They are spread all across the country and have redundant systems in place. They would be able to get back up and running within a few days. With the global economy today, all other markets would continue as normal.

I've been trading the market for just a few months. My cousin actually told me about this website ( http://pennystocks.toptips.org ) and I signed up immediately after. This is my honest review about their method. I'm not someone who has a lot of time to be researching for ideas because I work many hours. they made it incredibly easy for me to make money in the market. Their reports are easy to read and follow. I've tracked most of the stock ideas that I've received in my e-mail from them and MANY have seen some nice gains after their announcements. I've made a nice profit (55% return on my investment on one, and 112% on the other!) on a couple of suggestions he's given and plan to start trading his ideas a lot more.

it has been suggested that non capital cities, such as NY would impact less than a nations capital. Free market often find opportunity in catastrophe, hence war can be profitable as twentieth century history proves. Capitalism is very mobile and the electronic re-adjustment was evidenced after 9/11. Most businesses, industries and nations draft disaster recovery plans which address public order, housing, emergency medical care and financial recovery.

that would be scary

probably the US would crash for a few years to a decade and we would be vulnerable to attack so then a nuclear war would start and we would all send nukes all over the place and then we get nuclear winter and then we are all screwed.
