Texas, for the most part, uses Central Time. Three counties in far west Texas use Mountain Time. They are near the city of El Paso. These counties are:

Culberson (just the northwest corner of the county)
El Paso
Hudspeth

Local time in Houston is 08:48.
Local time in El Paso is 07:48.
