I am so excited to be pregnant, I couldn't wait to get into maternity clothes to show off my belly. I started wearing some of my maternity clothes(that could fit lol) at about 12-13 weeks. Seeing that my belly was getting bigger and that I could show off my pregnancy curves, made me feel good about myself. Being pregnant is beatiful, and that should make you feel good. And if you're worried about looking frumpy when you're pregnant, it doesn't have to be that way. I bought individual peices from different stores to keep my style the same as before I was pregnant. Old Navy has some cool styles, and also take a look at JC Penny. They're not as expensive as some of the boutiques. And check out ebay too. There are maternity clothes that don't look like maternity clothes. CONGRATS AND GOOD LUCK! And SHOW OFF THOSE PREGNANCY CURVES GIRL!!!

I went throgh that at about 20 weeks. I wasn't all that impressed with the maternity clothes that i had seen, so i went to Old Navy and i brought some ultra-low rise jeans. The nomally sit very low on the hips anyway, so they were perfect for me. They fit right below my belly instead of trying to strech the jeans around it, so i don't have to give up my style just because i'm gonna be a momma.(At least not yet!) A Pea in the Pod's website has some cool maternity clothes though. Good Luck!

I looked forward to getting the new maternity clothes. Later on in my pregnancy I got HUGE and the women in my husband's family took me on a little trip to the maternity store in the mall for several new outfits. I am a pretty small girl (usually around 100 lbs and 5'4"), so it was a bit depressing when the Large sizes almost didn't fit! My husband's cousin ran around the store screaming "We finally found one that fits her!!" when I found some stuff that fit my big belly. The new clothes did make me feel a little better about the way I looked towards the end of my pregnancy.

I bought maternity clothes that made my body look great with a baby belly. And I feel GREAT! I'm 21 weeks and I have maternity shirts and some pants and when I get dressed up in the clothes I add accesories and do my hair and make-up and I feel and think I look good for pregnant. Just do that and you'll feel awesome!

It never made me feel bad, at all. I knew that I would get to that point. In fact, reaching that point made me feel good! I might not have felt good, while I was pregnant, but I always felt good about myself, and what I was doing. That baby bump always put a grin on my face. It's just a daily reminder that I'm a Mom, and there is a precious baby that I'm taking care of.
I always thought that while I was pregnant, it wasn't my body for the next 9 months. I didn't particularly enjoy BEING pregnant, but I love being a mother, and I loved having my babies!
On the other hand, when I was pregnant with my twins I had a hard time getting around towards the end. I went to the salon and paid to have my hair washed to pamper myself. It felt so good to just lay back and have someone do that one simple thing for me.
I don't think out growing your clothes is cause to feel bad when you're pregnant, I think it's cause to rejoice! You're baby is growing! Yay for you!!! I do believe that pregnant women should pamper themselves a bit. You're not gonna get much time to do that afterwards, and what you do for you, you do for baby, right? (That's the excuse I always used anyway!) Congrats on your little one!

I went out and bought some cute maternity clothes, especially nice jeans when I could not fit into mine anymore. The gap had great maternity jeans that are reasonably priced. I have honestly bought way too much stuff though. If you donlt want to spend alot of money try Ebay for clothes they have alot of cute Gap stuff. Just buy your pre-pregnancy size and they should fit.

i can relate to how you feel, you need to acknowledge how you are feeling about your body, it is sad to part ways with the thinner waistline. Just pamper yourself, if that's getting a mani and pedi, or getting your hair shampooed and styled or just taking a walk with nature, or getting some frozen yogurt.
I went shopping for some cute maternity cloths, and packet up all my pre-baby cloths, i will be back in them soon enough, right now the focus should be on staying health, mind, body and soul. Not just for you but also for the growing blessing within you.
Focus on the positives in your life.
Blessings!

First off, be glad you got that far! I was having trouble by 13 weeks buttoning my clothes. 17 weeks is totally normal :) Get your hair and nails done and try to spend some time achieving that "pregnancy glow" we all hear about. I tried really hard to look nice while pregnant. I picked out cute maternity outfits, styled my hair, and accessorized well to take my mind off my waistine. Also, I tried to tell myself how beautiful the pregnant body is....even if YOU don't feel so beautiful, you are because you're carrying around your baby and nourishing it inside you. Try to remember that and congrats!

Heck, that DID make me feel good. I was actually "showing" and I thought that was incredibly cool. You can extend regualr pants by putting a hair rubber band through the belt loop and looping it over the button. I've had to do that when I put on a few pounds, too.
Just read you additional thoughts and I see what you mean now. It is kind of scary for one thing to realize that a human is growing inside of you and you are responsible for that. I DO remember the kind of fear that I had because of that and I think I splurged on some of my favorite perfume to cheer myself up.

I loved that part. It let me know that I'm really pregnant. I noticed it at work. I had to keep my pants unbuttoned all day. You'll feel better when you're in your maternity clothes & look pregnant & not just chubby
