I don't like it... It's proven to NOT be much of a deterrent to crime, and it's too easy to convict and kill someone who is innocent, especially if they're poor and can't afford a good lawyer. I'm all for being tough on criminals, but I just can't go as far as to say the death penalty is a good thing.

I agree with the Death Penalty. Especially when the crime
involves young children.

I think that in the extreme cases of serial killings and mass murders the death penalty should be allowed. I also think that the death penalty should be allowed in countries with high crime rates and overcrowded prisons.

I try to be honest to my feelings, and this one bothers me. I feel if I could not be the one to 'throw the switch' then I should be against it.
So, even though I think certain people NEVER belong mixing with the general population again: murderers, rapists, etc, I couldn't kill them as a punishment. So AGAINST. Only like I said, I couldn't be the one the throw the switch. Now, if I caught them harming someone, the story changes, cause I feel I would definitely put the hurt on someone I caught in the act of hurting my kids!
Alot of people I've asked, said they are for it. Then when I ask if they could be the one to 'throw the switch' they all have said NO.
So, are they hypocrites, or what?

if they crime is severe enough yes. who is that up to though? a judge? so guess alot of it depend on how the judge feels about it. in my opionion, cold blooded killers and child molesters shouldn't waste my tax dollars living on death row for years at a time. They live far better lives than a lot of hard working people out there, as far as a roof over their head and good food to eat. If your convicted by a jury of your peers you deserve to serve the time and punishment for the crime you committed. If that means death, well sorry for you shouldn't have done what you did.

Generally speaking, I am against the death penalty, as it serves no real purpose. However, some people have earned that 'reward' with the depth of their heinous act and it would be foolish to deny them their just desserts

If they confess or we know they are guilty of a death penalty offense for sure then get rid of them Kill them as quick as possible.I thing that it is inhuman to keep people around for years waiting.
