A friend of mine is thinking about becoming a prostitute. He is single and in between jobs and has been offered a job working for a large prostitution company.

He is simply doing it for the money, and will only be working with the ladies and not the men, even though if he did he would get more money and work.

Im just looking for some advice, perhaps some pros and cons involved with being a male prostitute?

Also maybe some ideas I can pass on to him before he starts. STDs being an obvious one, what else?

I don't know man, I have been at that 'desperate for money' stage and I was thinking about doing a few quick ones here and there just to get the bills paid...but in the end, thank goodness, i decided to rather work 3 jobs to get the money I needed. I figured that I couldn't live with the fact that I had done that to get the bills paid.

What happens if he gets an STD or worse?? there's no going back..

I look back now (10 years later) and thank God that I didn't because to be honest, I probably wouldve got hooked on the money and not wanted to stop!

Good luck...you're a good friend for wanting to help him out here

Well if that is what he wants then he should do it. I am sure he understands the risks, the underground backward lifestyle it is. The dangers of the mafia, the STD's, the things he will have to do, and the fun and money. As most businesses like this are run illegally he will have to have good legal support for what he does. Hope he likes it as he will become hard, and feelings will be killed in him. A year from now he will not have any feelings about him or others. So just let him go and do what he wants.

The only pro I can think of with prostitution is the money...But money can't buy happiness...

There are too many cons including the nasty diseases you can contract. It will mess with his self-esteem...I mean eventually he is going to feel like he can only get paid for sex. And then not to mention if he decides to settle down with someone, will he keep this a dark secret or tell them what he has done to earn cash in the past...

Money is the "pro". The cons are too numerous to list - STDs a long long list including HIV/AIDS - incontinence in middle age - I could go on!

He will no longer be a human being with feelings, he will be an object used by fat ugly women. No woman would pay for that when she could get it herself for free. I hope he likes being treated like a piece of meat! Cause that is all he will be. He is selling his soul.

Tell him, there is no difference in a prostitute and a public toilet.

if you are his friend, you should against his decision.
yes, we have no right to tell what the business they should do.
but, we all know it is bad for him. you should stand up and telling him he should never do this kind of things. why?? because you are his friend. isn't that an easy answer?

Too much competition. I've already taken most of your business.
