That is a Windows system file and is necessary for your computer to run. Do NOT delete it!

NTUSER.DAT is part of the Windows registry. It holds information needed for your computer to boot and Windows to run. If you were to succeed in deleting that file, Windows would not longer run on your PC. That is why you can not delete it. It is protected because it is a vital Windows system file.

its in... %systemroot%\documents and settings\(username) folder. It is hidden too, you will need to go to a folder and go to tools>folder options and in the view tab look down in the scroll box until you see "show hidden files and folders". But ntuser.dat is not a virus it is a system file and it wouldnt be a good idea if you deleted it. If you think its having issues, run a sfc /scannow in command prompt this will check your system files including that one for corruption or errors..

ntuser.dat is the file that contains the system registry. You cannot delete it because it is open whenever you are trying to delete it. There are several good registry cleaners on the market if you are interested in cleaning it out.
