I've never read To Kill a Mocking Bird...but I wanted to kill myself after reading The Catcher in The Rye.

Defo To kill a Mocking Bird. I read it a couple of years ago and was bowled over. A read Catcher in the Rye thinking it would be of the same quality. I just don't know why its meant to be as good.

To Kill A Mocking Bird for definite, after all it did win the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1961.
There are so many great themes in To Kill A Mocking Bird whether its courage, the destruction of beauty or prejudice (both racial and class) it remains a timeless classic.

To Kill A Mockingbird, definitely. I adore Catcher In The Rye, but to me, Mockingbird beats it!
