The war in Algeria?

I know that it is a religious war and that it is to do with islamic extremists but what is the war about exactly, and when did it start and who are involved? There was fighting before the country's independance but was that still to do with islamic extremists or politic or a bit of everything?

I believe politics started it, if you call a dictatorship politics.
Now it is the Islamic Jihad won't control just as they will in every Nation in the world to worship Islam. You can not reason with these people, they are so full of hatred for these that do not worship Islam. This isn't a religion it is pure evil.
