When I try and open up my add or remove programmes file it crashes. I get error code .. Run a DLL as an App has encounterd a problem and needs to close.
Any ideas to what is causing it?

You can't just reinstall the control panel, but you can run a sfc /scannow in command prompt and that will fix your prob..

Try running this online scan
http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/ActiveScan.htm
It can at times help remove .dll errors

your viruses mite have crashed your pc or system files particularly Dlls mite have been deleted.....only way is to reinstall the Operating system....

see if you can manually launch from the run dialog:
START - RUN - appwiz.cpl - OK
